Wall Paper, Better than White!

In previous articles the Upscale Design Team has been covering topics such as the 1970’s, wall colors etc. Here we wanted to highlight the benefits of embracing your own style by using wall paper.

Research has shown that most homes and especially rented apartment tenants have blank white walls. Now, our designers wanted to share with you some ideas of how to add some colors to your home.

One great thing about wall paper is that there is almost an unlimited selection of colors, patterns, graphics and they are cheap! Even the look of the paper can trick you into thinking the wall is made from wood, a certain type of stone or even fabric. The choice of colors and patterns are also wide and you can simply do some research online to find something you like. As we are living in the 21st Century, you don’t have to walk into a brick and mortar store where you only have a given choice of wall papers. You can order online and truly find your favorite style.

If you want to be part of current trends you can consider visuals with strong primary colors. They are very popular as many furniture designers also launch product lines inspired by futuristic graphics and designs. If you are a more romantic type, then consider pastel colors with light prints. If you are looking for a "cool" vibe for your man-cave then why not use stone inspired paper? There are many options out there that will help you give each room its' own distinct personality.

Our interior designers have put together some wall paper examples for you to look at for inspiration. Our team hopes that after reading this post, some of you will switch away from boring white walls into something that expresses who you really are. Be creative and daring and you will love your home!
